The Great Tempest in a Bottle is an online exhibition

There are a lot of kooky ideas floating around on the internet in small isolated communities, and they seem harmless at first until they inspire people to commit real life acts of violence. The Great Tempest in a Bottle is a multimedia online exhibition that combines the phrases “a tempest in a teapot” and “the genie is out of the bottle” to describe the virality of internet cultures. These kooky ideas, once introduced to the mainstream, cannot be pushed back into their small corner of the internet to be forgotten. The exhibition's four series use memes from online communities to celebrate and critique internet culture's lasting effects as an impermanent medium.

Anson the Ornery is a Kansas City, Kansas artist that combines his talents in visual art, music and writing with the latest technology to create artworks that explore the morality around those new innovations. The Great Tempest in a Bottle is a showcase of Anson’s abilities, in different media, exhibited solely on a website.
